About The Position

The Sr. Specialist, Logistics administers the efficient and economical movement of cargo, resolves cargo transportation needs, and processes documentation within established deadlines. The role handles complex logistics tasks, ensures shipment invoices and documentation are accurate and compliant, and interprets applicable rates and tariffs. It also serves as a customer liaison and may provide operational guidance and training to other logistics specialists and coordinators.

Requirements

Associate degree in business or a related field, or a combination of post-high-school education and job-related formal training.
Five or more years of general office or transportation/logistics experience.
Knowledge of ocean and air documents, customs forms, and regulations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Bilingual English/Spanish skills may be required.

Responsibilities

Manage complex tasks involving the movement of goods in accordance with organizational policies.
Ensure invoices are accurate and consistent with physical shipments and customer and regulatory requirements.
Review proposals and recommend or make rate modifications.
Ensure compliance with U.S. regulatory agencies.
Keep customers updated on the status of cargo being transported.
Prepare, review, approve, and maintain import/export document files.
Determine cargo classifications according to tariff specifications, as needed.
Provide guidance and technical or operational training to other logistics specialists and coordinators.
Interpret, review, and apply appropriate rates to bills of lading based on applicable tariffs, in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance with rules and regulations.
