About The Position

The Sr. Specialist, Logistics administers efficient and economical cargo movement, resolves transportation needs, and processes documentation within established deadlines. The role manages complex goods-movement tasks, ensures accurate and compliant invoices and shipping documents, reviews rates, and supports compliance with U.S. regulatory agencies. It also serves as a customer liaison and may provide technical and operational guidance to other Logistics specialists and coordinators.

Requirements

Associate degree in business or a related field, or a combination of post-high-school education and job-related formal training.
Five or more years of general office or transportation/logistics experience.
Knowledge of ocean and air documents, customs forms, and regulations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Bilingual English/Spanish may be required.

Responsibilities

Administer efficient and economical movement of cargo and resolve transportation needs or process documentation within established deadlines.
Manage complex tasks involving the movement of goods in accordance with organizational policies.
Ensure invoices accurately reflect physical shipments and meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Review proposals and recommend or make rate modifications.
Ensure compliance with U.S. regulatory agencies.
Keep customers updated on the status of transported cargo.
Prepare, review, approve, and maintain import/export document files.
Determine cargo classifications according to tariff specifications, as needed.
Lead and provide guidance and technical or operational training to other Logistics specialists and coordinators.
Interpret, review, and apply appropriate rates to bills of lading based on applicable tariffs, in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance with rules and regulations.
