About The Position

The Senior Specialist, Environment, Health & Safety is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and execution of Environment, Health & Safety initiatives supporting Scout Motors's expansion. This role is accountable for ensuring EHS requirements are integrated into the development, construction, launch, and operation of vehicle sales and service locations while driving consistency, compliance, and operational excellence across the enterprise. Acting as the central point of coordination between Commercial Operations, Real Estate, Construction, Facilities, Legal, Security, HR, and external partners, this role drives alignment of EHS priorities and resources throughout the site activation lifecycle. The successful candidate will lead cross-functional initiatives, manage competing priorities across multiple projects and stakeholders, and ensure EHS programs scale effectively to support a rapidly growing commercial footprint. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental science, engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in EHS
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental, health & safety regulations in the US.
• Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives and manage multiple stakeholders across a matrixed organization.
• Strong project and program management skills with demonstrated success delivering initiatives on time and within scope.
• Experience coordinating resources and priorities across multiple concurrent projects.
• Exceptional communication, organizational, and executive presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing environment, balancing competing priorities and shifting business demands.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business recommendations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Teams, SharePoint, Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with Avetta, ISN, Ideagen, Benchmark and other digital platforms.
• High degree of ownership, accountability, and ability to drive results.
• Valid driver's license required.

Nice To Haves

• Professional certification (e.g. CSP) preferred.
• 2+ years of experience supporting facility construction projects, preferred.
• Experience supporting multi-site vehicle sales and service locations, automotive, construction, or large-scale expansion programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of EHS strategies supporting Scout Motors' vehicle sales and service network implementation and operational readiness initiatives.
• Serve as the main EHS point of contact for Commercial Operations teams.
• Ensure EHS requirements are incorporated throughout site selection, design, construction, launch, and operational phases of new facilities.
• Drive cross-functional alignment on EHS-related topics between Commercial Operations, Real Estate, Construction, Facilities, Legal, Security, HR, and external partners.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement EHS procedures, practices, and training appropriate for the risks, hazards, and conditions in area of responsibility.
• Own enterprise-level project plans, timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communications related to vehicle sales and service EHS initiatives.
• Lead governance processes and drive accountability for EHS deliverables across multiple business functions.
• Drive standardization of EHS processes, documentation, training, and reporting across all vehicle sales and service locations.
• Manage competing priorities across multiple projects while ensuring critical milestones and business objectives are achieved.
• Build strong partnerships with enterprise leaders and functional teams to drive proactive risk management and operational excellence.
• Facilitate cross-functional meetings, project reviews, and executive updates to ensure alignment and timely decision-making.
• Influence stakeholders at all organizational levels to ensure EHS considerations are incorporated into business planning and execution.
• Identify risks, barriers, and resource challenges and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate EHS readiness activities for vehicle sales and service location openings and/or significant changes, including any necessary permitting, operational risk assessments, training, etc.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local EHS regulations and company standards across the vehicle sales and service network.
• Utilize contractor management platform(s) to ensure adequate vetting and performance for contracting companies & third-party vendors.
• Assure change management processes are implemented to identify modifications to operations or facilities and any corresponding compliance obligations.
• Lead program audits, assessments, and performance reviews to drive continuous improvement.
• Monitor and communicate program performance through KPIs, dashboards, metrics, and executive reporting.
• Drive corrective action plans and ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness of vehicle sales and service EHS programs.
• Leverage data and performance metrics to drive decision-making and program enhancements.
• Respond to incidents, lead/participate in investigations, learning teams, and communicate as appropriate.
• Work closely with Human Resources, Risk & insurance, and Medical management on modified duty, return to work, and other programs.
• Maintain detailed records of equipment safety assessments, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Other duties as assigned by the Sr. Director, Environment, Health & Safety.
