About The Position

The Environment, Health & Safety Specialist supports the planning, coordination, and execution of key initiatives across the EHS organization. This role serves as the EHS contact and resource for assigned areas/departments in Blythewood, SC. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Environment, Health & Safety, the Specialist helps to develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS programs for Production and Construction. The ideal candidate brings practical environment, health and safety experience including personal protective equipment, emergency response, hazard response and management and employee training. They demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced, evolving work environment and effectively manage competing priorities from multiple stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in health, safety, engineering, or related field
• 5-7 years of experience in EHS
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental, health & safety regulations in the US
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare professional materials.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and other collaboration tools.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and provide meaningful insights.
• Proactive, organized, and able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• High degree of professionalism, integrity, and discretion
• Valid driver's license required.

Nice To Haves

• Professional certification ( e.g. CSP) preferred
• 2+ years experience supporting manufacturing operations, preferred
• 2+ years experience supporting facility construction projects, preferred
• Experience in the EV automotive industry is highly desired

Responsibilities

• Assist with coordination of daily activities, including acting as a main point of contact for Production and EHS teams
• Serve as the EHS contact and resource for assigned areas/departments in Blythewood, SC
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS programs for Production and Construction
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement policies, procedures, and practices appropriate for risks, hazards, and conditions
• Conduct risk assessments to ensure risks and hazards are identified and mitigated
• Own and manage PPE, Life Safety and safety equipment for assigned areas
• Develop and deliver curated training programs for Production and specialized work
• Ensure compliance with industry safety standards; local, state and federal regulations; and company safety policies and procedures
• Respond to incidents, lead/ participate in investigations, learning teams, and communicate as appropriate
• Work closely with People team, Risk & insurance, and onsite Health Service for light duty, return to work, and other programs
• Maintain detailed records of equipment safety assessments, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Prepare and submit regular reports on safety performance and improvement initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned by the Sr. Manager, Environment, Health & Safety
