Sr. Silicon Design Engineer

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc•Santa Clara, CA

About The Position

AMD, Inc. is hiring a Sr. Silicon Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing. The role applies knowledge of electronic theory and oversees definition, design, verification, and/or documentation for ASIC development. It determines architecture and logic design and/or system simulation, defines module interfaces and formats for simulation, and contributes to multidimensional designs involving complex integrated-circuit layouts. The engineer evaluates the process flow from high-level designs through synthesis, place and route, timing, and power use. Working in an area of specialization, the role develops ASIC/layout designs and applies engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to design, develop, and test AMD products.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience as a design engineer or closely related engineering occupation.
  • Two years of experience with TCL, C, C++, and Perl.
  • Two years of experience with Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL.
  • Two years of experience in RTL design and coding.
  • Two years of experience with JTAG fundamentals.
  • Two years of experience utilizing Design For Test (DFT) to consider and improve design testability.
  • Two years of experience with Automatic Test Pattern Generation (ATPG) debug and pattern generation.
  • Two years of experience with VCS simulation and pattern debug.
  • Two years of experience in design verification.
  • Two years of experience with EDA design tools for synthesis, simulation, equivalence checking, and static timing analysis.
  • Two years of experience in Unix or Linux environments.

Responsibilities
