Sr. Scrum Master
About The Position
Support and coach Agile teams by empowering them and providing methods and tools that enable quality delivery while maintaining a focus on continuous improvement. Remove impediments that may obstruct the team’s goals and preserve its flexibility and ability to respond to change. Lead the enhancement of best practices for high-performing team processes, artifacts, and tools. Collaborate with other teams and help the organization launch, stabilize, and optimize program-level and portfolio-level teams while adapting and promoting Agile frameworks, principles, and practices. The role also includes supporting program execution and operational excellence, maintaining transparency into delivery and team performance, and improving the flow of value through Agile teams and value streams. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or the stated in-lieu-of-education experience.
- At least 5 years of software development or related experience, or the stated in-lieu-of-education experience.
- At least 2 years of experience with Agile practices such as Scrum or Kanban, or the stated in-lieu-of-education experience.
- In lieu of education: 8 years of software development, Agile practices such as Scrum or Kanban, or related experience.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification or related qualification.
Responsibilities
- Provide visibility into delivery targets, commitments, progress, and relevant team data to maximize transparency.
- Partner with and coach other teams to achieve project return on investment and meet PI objectives and milestones; plan and prioritize work across teams.
- Identify upstream and downstream dependencies, support risk management, and resolve impediments through peer networks and formal channels.
- Participate in release planning activities, including PI Planning, Inspect & Adapt, and Scrum of Scrums; provide team statistics, dependency information, capacity and velocity forecasts, burndowns/burn-ups, dashboards, and Program Board updates.
- Manage cross-team dependencies and report progress and impediments.
- Maintain alignment, tagging, completion, reporting, and oversight of team backlog items in Azure DevOps (ADO) to support transparency and timely program adjustments.
- Manage and optimize Agile team value flow using Kanban, ADO, the Program Board, Measure & Grow metrics, and other information radiators.
- Partner with systems teams to ensure Agile team tools support the ART and maximize transparency and flow.
- Improve value-stream flow by assessing and improving team practices related to DevOps and Release on Demand in the Continuous Delivery Pipeline.
- Partner with the Project Management Office (PMO) on program execution and operational excellence.
- Facilitate workshops to drive improvement during the Inspect and Adapt ceremony.
- Contribute to the Agile Center of Excellence’s continuous improvement efforts.
- Adhere to Bank Secrecy Act policies and processes and ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws, company procedures, and policies.
- Maintain integrity and ethics in actions and conversations involving credit union members and their accounts, and comply with Privacy Act directives.
