Sr Scrum Master- MSI

About The Position

MSI is seeking a Senior Scrum Master to serve as the embedded Scrum Master for Platform Architecture and Infrastructure. The role protects both teams’ capacity from poorly timed, uncoordinated demands while establishing two-way communication habits: providing teams with planning lead time and helping them communicate downstream impacts proactively. The initial focus is on these two teams; broader Agile coaching is a potential growth path only after the core work is stable and capacity permits. The position reports to the Head of Agile or Head of AI Enabled Delivery, with a dotted line to the other, and has no direct reports. It also acts as a mentor and lead to other Scrum Masters across the organization to support consistent execution of MSI’s Agile strategy, as capacity allows. Success over the first 6–12 months includes measurably reducing competing ad hoc demands on Platform Architecture so it can redesign its release-approval process; establishing and sustaining cross-stakeholder prioritization and roadmap/impact forums; and visibly executing the Heads of Agile’s strategic plan through team ceremonies. Broader Scrum Master coaching may follow if bandwidth allows.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an embedded Scrum Master or Agile Coach supporting highly technical, cross-cutting engineering or infrastructure teams.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder-alignment skills, including the ability to balance competing priorities and drive alignment across business units and portfolios.
  • Working knowledge of Azure DevOps (ADO).
  • Experience with cross-portfolio dependency mapping, OKRs, and delivery or quality metrics reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with DevSecOps, multi-cloud, or CI/CD delivery environments.
  • Agile certification such as CSM, PSM, SAFe SSM/Advanced SM, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Push back on stakeholders, convene cross-team prioritization sessions, and protect Platform Architecture and Infrastructure capacity from competing top-down asks.
  • Maintain clear cross-portfolio dependency maps so stakeholders can see trade-offs.
  • Coach Platform Architecture and Infrastructure to proactively communicate their work, roadmaps, and potential downstream impacts to dependent scrum and product teams.
  • Facilitate a recurring cross-team forum until proactive communication becomes routine, and use the forum to support prioritization decisions.
  • Partner with Platform Architecture leadership to reduce competing top-down asks and free capacity for the team to redesign its release-approval process; the role does not own that approval process.
  • Run and coach ceremonies for Platform Architecture and Infrastructure, tailoring facilitation and training to each team’s needs and maturity.
  • Report team health, blockers, and adherence to the strategic plan directly to the Heads of Agile.
  • Ensure delivery routines align with applicable security, risk, and governance requirements across Baldwin partner organizations.
  • Support accurate delivery documentation and audit or accreditation readiness where required.
  • As capacity allows, provide informal lead guidance to Scrum Masters on other teams to support consistent execution of the strategic Agile plan.
  • As capacity allows after the core scope is stable, help roll out tailored coaching plans and share informal coaching practices with Scrum Masters on other teams.
