About The Position

The Scrum Master candidate will facilitate and ensure the effective implementation of Scrum practices within IT projects. The role guides the team through the Scrum framework, removes impediments, and fosters a collaborative environment to enhance productivity and deliver high-quality solutions. The position may be at the Scrum Master or Sr Scrum Master level, with different minimum experience requirements for each.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or a related business or technical field, or equivalent work experience. Typically, four years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates without a bachelor's degree.
• Scrum Master position: minimum of five years of relevant experience, including at least three years as a Scrum Master in an IT environment.
• Sr Scrum Master position: minimum of eight years of relevant experience, including at least three years as a Scrum Master in an IT environment.
• Experience in information technology system operation/environment and/or development.
• Understanding of agile methods, processes, and key concepts, including the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
• Understanding of the system development lifecycle within an enterprise.
• Ability to coordinate across teams to accomplish tasks.
• Effective project management skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
• Knowledge of information technology terms, equipment, systems, functions, and major vendors.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills and customer relationship skills.
• General understanding of IT operating and capital investment budgets.
• Understanding of the company's existing IT environment and applicable company policies, practices, and procedures.

Nice To Haves

• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification.
• Experience working in an Azure Dev Ops (ADO) environment.

Responsibilities

• Organize and lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure the team adheres to Scrum principles.
• Assist the Product Owner in managing the product backlog, ensuring it is well-defined, prioritized, and ready for the next sprint.
• Identify and eliminate obstacles that hinder the team's progress, supporting smooth workflow and timely delivery of project goals.
• Advocate for Agile methodologies and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team and organization.
• Track and report team performance metrics, such as velocity and burndown charts, to provide transparency and insight into progress.
• Provide guidance and support to team members to help them understand and effectively implement Scrum practices.
• Communicate with stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
