About The Position

The successful candidate will be a Senior Materials Engineer supporting nondestructive testing and evaluation technologies for wind turbine products. The role maintains material and special-process specifications for nondestructive test methods and procedures, works with suppliers to interpret standards and optimize production techniques, and evaluates automated and AI-based NDT systems. It also supports service and root-cause-analysis projects through NDT process development for field inspection and validation, coordinating with service teams and third parties to develop field procedures and review results. The role identifies process-improvement and standard-work opportunities, as well as technology-development opportunities for growth and investment.

Requirements

For roles outside the USA: significant experience in NDT methods, including UT, Eddy Current, MPI, and phased array, with demonstrated proficiency in advanced techniques.
For roles in the USA: a master's degree from an accredited university or college, or at least 20 years of experience in the specified NDT methods.
Ability and willingness to travel 30% or more as needed, domestically and globally.

Responsibilities

Maintain material and special-process specifications for nondestructive test methods and procedures.
Work with suppliers to interpret specifications and standards and optimize production methods and techniques.
Evaluate the use of automatic and AI systems for NDT.
Review supplier and service-provider NDT procedures and techniques to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and specifications.
Support service and root-cause-analysis projects by developing NDT processes for field inspection and validation.
Interface with service teams and third parties to develop field procedures and review results.
Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and standard work.
Identify technology-development opportunities for growth and investment.
