About The Position

Guitar Center is seeking a Senior Sales Associate who is passionate about music and experienced in sales and leadership. The role focuses on creating a welcoming, engaging customer experience and helping customers select instruments and gear that suit their needs. The associate is expected to achieve sales targets, build customer relationships, maintain strong product knowledge, and help other associates develop their knowledge and customer relationships.

The Senior Sales Associate also supports merchandising, store upkeep, and day-to-day operations. As a keyholding team member, the associate may be asked to open and close the store. The position requires flexibility to work additional hours, nights, and weekends as needed.

Requirements

• Passion for music and a solid understanding of a variety of instruments and products.
• Proven sales track record and ability to exceed sales targets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment, with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to influence and motivate others toward shared goals.
• Flexibility to work additional hours, nights, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming environment and help customers find products suited to their musical interests and needs.
• Achieve and exceed sales targets through sales, upselling, and cross-selling.
• Maintain expert knowledge of instruments, recording equipment, and other products, and help improve other associates’ product knowledge.
• Build and maintain customer relationships and help fellow associates develop relationships with customers and the local music community.
• Organize displays, restock shelves, and maintain the store.
• Guide and mentor team members, supporting them with customer interactions and operational tasks.
• Open and close the store as needed as a keyholding team member.
