Sr RFIC Design Engineer

Qorvo•Apopka, FL

About The Position

The design and development of RF LNA and switches for cellular applications, potentially using SOI and BiCMOS technologies. Support standalone LNA and switch modules and their integration into a multi-chip module (MCM). Working with the internal module customers with die deliverables and optimizing the RF chain. Working with layout designers to use best practices for layout. Designing and using analog blocks like Bandgap, LDO, Bias circuits etc from time to time. Creating test laminates to measure the taped out hardware and working with Lab technicians to troubleshoot measurements issues and perform sim vs meas correlation. Conducting peer reviews of their designs, including expected and/or actual results. Writing regular program updates and communicate progress and issues in a clear and concise manner. Be able to execute to an aggressive schedule.

Requirements

  • MSEE or PhD in an RF related field
  • >5 years of experience in LNA and/or other RFIC designs
  • Extensive experience designing with HFSS, Cadence, and ADS
  • Strong background with RF measurements and characterization
  • Experience in standard RF design techniques and best practices
  • Working knowledge of device physics for IC design, especially tradeoffs for LNA and switch configuration
  • Strong background in various linear and nonlinear simulation techniques and simulators
  • Capable of refining simulation results to achieve excellent predictability with the goal of first pass success
  • Good communication skills
  • Be able to work independently

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of RF PA design and other large signal circuit design is considered a plus
  • Candidates with successful release of production LNA and switches for mobile applications would be highly considered
