About The Position

Qorvo is seeking a Sr. RFIC Design Engineer to join their team. This role focuses on the design of GaAs/SOI/SiGe/CMOS based switch and LNA or RFIC’s for Front End Modules. The engineer will work with marketing and module designers to define the product, design and evaluate laminates, and utilize RF measurement equipment. Collaboration with internal and external teams is key for integrating the RFIC into modules and providing guidance on technical tradeoffs. The role also involves engaging in the production readiness phase, supporting product engineers with characterization, test plans, and yield optimization, as well as providing feedback to modeling and tool providers to enhance design software predictability.

Requirements

  • BSEE, MSEE preferred, with a focus on RF design.
  • 6 + years experience with switch/RF IC design.
  • Extensive experience designing with HFSS, Cadence and ADS.
  • The conceptualization, design, layout, evaluation and transfer to production of component design.
  • Experience simulating GaAs/Silicon/SiGe based switches/LNA/RF IC’s in Cadence and Agilent ADS.
  • Expereince working with modules involving Filters, preferred.
  • Experience designing laminates to support switch/RF IC evaluation and characterization.
  • Advanced hands on knowledge of small signal and linearity measurements using VNA’s and spectrum analyzers and ability to troubleshoot measurement issues.
  • Experience with EM simulators such as Momentum, HFSS.
  • Experience with Front End Modules.
  • Experience supporting remote engineering teams.
  • Be able to work independently, communicate well and execute to an aggressive schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Marketing, internal and external module designers to define the switch/LNA/RF IC.
  • The design, layout and evaluation of laminates to support switch characterization and development.
  • Expert use of RF Measurement equipment with the ability to troubleshoot measurement issues.
  • Collaborate and interact with internal and external switch/LNA and Filter teams module teams to integrate the switch/RF IC into Modules and to provide guidance to the design teams on technical tradeoffs to help provide best in class solutions for cost effective module applications.
  • Engage in the production readiness phase. This will include guiding the product engineer group with device characterization, develop production test plans to ensure smooth transition into volume production and support the product engineering group with yield optimization as well.
  • Interact with internal and external modeling and tool providers to provide feedback based on the design and circuit implementation to further enhance the predictability of our design software.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $115,600 - $150,500, relevant for the California Bay Area (subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • Total Rewards package
