About The Position

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its State Department of Transportation Client Center and lead growth of its Tennessee practice. The role provides direction and leadership to the Tennessee-based transportation team, growing, leading, and mentoring the local practice while supporting complementary initiatives across the firm’s geography. The Project Manager partners closely with the Director of Projects to achieve performance objectives for quality delivery, profitability, and growth. The position supports development and execution of the State DOT Client Center business plan in alignment with the firm’s strategic plan and annual performance objectives. It works with the Director of Projects, Client Service Leaders, and Marketing on client marketing plans, pursuit strategies, teaming agreements, proposals, and interviews. The role also manages project delivery, develops conceptual design solutions, collaborates with technical discipline leaders, and supervises staff. Other duties may be assigned. Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
10–15 years of related experience in design and project management.
Experience working with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT).
Strong design and technical credibility.
Excellent oral, written, and graphical communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Professional Engineer (PE) candidates are highly preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) candidates without a PE may be considered if they have the same technical skills.

Responsibilities

Support development and execution of the State DOT Client Center’s business plan, aligned with the firm’s strategic plan and annual performance objectives.
Collaborate with the Director of Projects, Client Service Leaders, and Marketing to develop and execute client marketing plans, pursuit strategies, teaming agreements, proposals, and interviews.
Develop proposals and negotiate contracts.
Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, billing, and collections.
Provide technical oversight of projects to ensure adherence to Barge’s Quality Program.
Facilitate internal and external meetings throughout project phases and manage changes in project scope or level of effort.
Develop conceptual design solutions in response to client goals and objectives.
Collaborate with technical discipline leaders to develop project reports, designs, plans, and specifications.
Direct and supervise assigned staff, including managing workload, performance, and professional development.
Work with the Director of Projects to ensure key skillsets and capabilities support current operational needs.
Collaborate with other departments to allocate resources firmwide and share talent and work across the firm.
Perform other duties as assigned.
