About The Position

Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions is seeking a Sr. Project Logistics Manager in Houston, TX. This role is responsible for the end-to-end strategic design, planning, and execution of complex transportation solutions, focusing on heavy haul execution for over-dimensional and super-heavy cargo across the Americas. The position requires balancing high-level strategic planning with hands-on operational excellence to manage costs, mitigate risks, and optimize project schedules. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting or other business related field
  • Valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • 7+ years of door-to-door project cargo logistics experience
  • At least 5+ years in heavy haul / over-dimensional transport execution

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in logistics, business, management, or related field
  • 10+ years’ experience in project logistics or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and shape comprehensive transportation strategies, integrating multi-modal solutions (road, rail, marine) for complex project requirements, especially for heavy haul.
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams during FEED and proposal development to ensure cargo transportability.
  • Guide and support the execution of high-risk heavy lift operations, ensuring alignment with technical specifications and safety protocols.
  • Liaise with Project Management, Construction, Engineering, Procurement, and Project Controls departments.
  • Orchestrate the end-to-end logistics sourcing and contracting process for project cargo, including route studies, RFI/RFQ/RFPs.
  • Cultivate the performance of specialized heavy haul carriers.
  • Develop and implement standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for route surveys, permitting, and third-party cost control.
  • Develop and deploy heavy haul contracting strategies.
  • Be solution-oriented and able to pivot quickly to minimize disruptions.
  • Regularly meet with internal stakeholders to provide project updates and gather feedback.
  • Build alignment on detention and demurrage charges.
  • Provide reports to leadership as requested.
  • Perform detailed route feasibility studies and risk assessments for critical transport legs.
  • Prioritize adherence to international and local regulations governing over-dimensional loads.
  • Establish contingency protocols for transport disruptions.
  • Develop multi-million dollar logistics budgets for assigned projects, focusing on cost-efficiency and safety.
  • Identify opportunities to advance operational excellence and streamline logistics processes.
  • Define and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to transport lead times, equipment utilization, and safety incidents.
