About The Position

This opportunity is within Robotics and Digital Solutions (RAD) Program Management. By combining advancements in medical robotics, instrumentation, navigation and data science, the RAD franchise is building a platform technology capable of expanding the applicability of robotics to a spectrum of medical procedures. The Software Program Manager will be a core member of the RAD team, responsible for the design and development of the Ottava system through initial release and subsequent launches. The role will be accountable for driving execution of the end-to-end Software schedules and breaking them down into actionable quarterly objectives and key results (OKRs). The individual will leverage a hybrid Agile methodology to focus and drive the teams to achieve important short-term milestones that are critical to the success of the overall development plan and strategy. In collaboration with the team, the Program Manager will be responsible for project risk management and mitigation requiring contingency planning, conflict resolution, and tradeoff assessments. Another aspect of this role is being a champion of the team and building strong relationships with peers and cross-functional partners. The individual needs to be willing to challenge and communicate difficult decisions, strategies, and priorities while maintaining a culture of collaboration and end-to-end accountability. With other team leaders the individual should create a positive team environment and a culture with a sense of urgency, driving toward improved team effectiveness and achievement. This role will also have people management responsibility and will be expected to develop talent by working with them on development plans and providing opportunities for their growth.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering or related discipline
  • Prior program management experience of 8+ years
  • Experience working in an engineering capacity (highly preferred)
  • Technical capacity is required
  • Experience with MSP
  • Prior experience in a regulated environment

  • Strong people leader experience of 5+ years (indirect or direct)
  • Worked on large capital programs involving complex integrated subsystems (e.g., robotics, aerospace, autonomous vehicles)
  • High performer and leader with demonstrated ability to manage a complex program in a fast-paced environment
