Sr. Product Operations

Checkr•Nashville, TN
•$80,000 - $100,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Checkr is seeking a Senior Product Operations Specialist to strengthen the connection between Product, Operations, and Data teams. The role focuses on improving the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of criminal court data obtained directly from courts and through third-party vendors. It works across Product, Engineering, Supply Chain, Data, and Compliance to align product and operational strategies and deliver high-quality background data to clients. The specialist investigates differences among court records, vendor outputs, and Checkr data, then turns findings into actionable engineering requirements. The role supports efforts to improve in-house court data, reduce vendor dependency and fallback costs, and protect accuracy for clients and candidates. It also includes prioritizing work using fail-rate, fallback, and cost data; validating changes before and after release; advising on reportability and compliance considerations; and documenting decisions, processes, and training materials. The position uses AI and analytics tools to accelerate investigations, testing, and documentation. Checkr describes its environment as fast-paced and collaborative. The company says its hub-based in-office roles are expected to work from an office at least three days per week; the listed hubs are Denver, San Francisco, Nashville, and Santiago. A relocation stipend may be available for people willing to relocate to a hub.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of U.S. Judicial System processes, including court data, public records, and data sources relevant to background checks.
  • Proven track record of analyzing, tracking, and improving data quality and integrity within complex data ecosystems.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Product Management, Engineering, Compliance, and Operations teams.
  • Team-oriented mindset focused on shared success and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with court data automation, web scrapers, API testing, or vendor parity testing.
  • Familiarity with identity resolution and name-matching logic.
  • Experience using AI tools such as Claude or Cursor for analysis, prototyping, or building internal tools.
  • Strong bias for action, ownership, resilience through ambiguity, urgency, and commitment to meaningful outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product Managers, Data, and Operations teams to identify and implement process improvements that improve data quality, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Track, monitor, and improve data accuracy across multiple systems and data sources using analytical insights.
  • Optimize workflows related to court data, public records, and other screening data sources.
  • Bridge technical and non-technical teams to maintain communication and alignment on priorities.
  • Identify data-process gaps, propose solutions, and drive implementation.
  • Lead data quality and parity investigations for automated court data sources by sampling records, comparing Checkr output with vendor data and court records, and categorizing root causes.
  • Write enhancement requirements, expected-output mock-ups, and compliance considerations for scraper and data-pipeline changes; identify issues requiring alternatives such as manual fulfillment, court running, bulk files, or architecture work.
  • Validate engineering changes in pre-production environments, partner with Supply Chain Strat Ops on audit and parity testing before sources go live, and monitor post-release metrics.
  • Prioritize workstreams using fail-rate, fallback, and cost data, directing engineering capacity toward the highest-impact jurisdictions.
  • Investigate client accuracy escalations, identify root causes, and translate findings into data enhancements and process improvements.
  • Shape identity matching and search logic, including name variations, middle-name matching, and date-of-birth handling, while weighing accuracy, reporting risks, and compliance requirements.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Policy on reportability questions, including statute-to-charge-type mapping, sealed and expunged records, and state record-clearing laws.
  • Support platform and vendor migrations by defining parity criteria, reviewing field-level differences, and signing off on readiness.
  • Research supply-chain strategy, including new state and county sources, bulk-file opportunities, vendor redundancy, and outage strategies.
  • Write decision memos describing options and trade-offs for leadership; build documentation, playbooks, and training for Product Operations, Supply Chain, and engineering partners.
  • Use AI and analytics tools to accelerate investigations, testing, and documentation, and help teammates adopt those workflows.
