Sr. Principal Product Engineer - Cloud and Hyperscale platforms
About The Position
Jabil is seeking a Sr. Principal Product Engineer to join its Austin, Texas facility and contribute to the growth of the Intelligent Infrastructure division by developing end-customer product solutions. The position manages the technical direction of Advanced Compute Platform NPI and manufacturing programs, considering customer, factory, and business leadership needs. It partners with customers, strategic suppliers, and internal engineering, program management, manufacturing, test, and quality teams to ensure products meet Jabil’s and its customers’ performance and manufacturing standards. The role is responsible for product introductions and manufacturing performance for new and sustaining AI/ML, GPGPU, and hardware-accelerator-based server and storage platforms. It provides technical leadership and support across manufacturing sites, guides customers and operational teams through complex product, process, and material issues, and serves as the primary technical interface for customer product introductions and manufacturing performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 15 or more years of experience in a hardware product development environment with enterprise server, storage, or networking products.
- Deep understanding of server, storage, networking, GPGPU, and PCIe-based accelerator architectures.
- Systems management experience with server products, including embedded remote management standards, interfaces, and applications.
- Working knowledge of operating systems, drivers, firmware, hardware architecture, and device interactions.
- Ability to use software and hardware expertise to determine root causes and develop optimized solutions.
- Expertise with Linux operating systems, related applications, and script development.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and ambiguous business environment.
- Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 40%; primary travel is expected to be to locations in Mexico.
- Experience working in multi-site and multicultural environments.

Responsibilities
- Manage technical direction for Advanced Compute Platform NPI and manufacturing programs, balancing customer, factory, and business leadership needs.
- Oversee product introductions and manufacturing performance for new and sustaining AI/ML, GPGPU, and hardware-accelerator-based server and storage platforms.
- Organize and supervise teams and drive solutions to multiple complex problems across technical disciplines and functions.
- Communicate complex issues in clear, actionable terms at all organizational levels.
- Provide thought leadership and direct engineering support to multiple manufacturing sites in product, test infrastructure, component, and supplier expertise.
- Share knowledge and information among Jabil facilities so best practices are implemented throughout the organization.
- Guide customer and Jabil operational teams in resolving complex or systemic product, process, and material issues using rigorous analytical methods.
- Partner with site operations and test leadership on root-cause investigations and actions to improve first-pass yield, test throughput, and repair yield.
- Serve as the primary technical interface for customer product introductions and manufacturing performance for server and storage products.
- Contribute to the knowledge base for effective and accurate debugging, train appropriate test and debug leads, and respond to feedback to support daily operational objectives.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with peers, team members, executive leadership, customers, and external partners.
