About The Position

The Advanced Effector Guidance Systems (AEGS) Department within Raytheon Hardware Engineering provides electrical systems engineering for electronic systems across the Raytheon portfolio. The department’s work includes architecture, requirements, integration, and test, with technologies spanning navigation/IMU/GPS, data link and communications, digital electronics, and power. The department partners with electrical product teams responsible for detailed product design and with systems teams. The Sr. Principal Avionics CCA Lead leads electrical engineers through the design, procurement, test, and integration of multiple circuit cards, which may include analog, digital, and power designs. The role is accountable for technical, cost, and schedule execution; the technical integrity of electronics and their Technical Data Packages; and managing technical risk, design verification, hardware procurement, and failure investigations. The position also supports component-level design and test reviews and the transition to production and early production units. Assignments may span multiple phases of the hardware systems lifecycle, including design and analysis, electronic systems architecture, subsystem requirements and test-plan development, subject-matter-expert design reviews, presentations to peers, management, and government customers, and root-cause failure investigations. The work is primarily office-based, with possible lab or field work and some travel. The role involves mentoring, collaboration with functional and program management, and work with customers and suppliers.

Requirements

  • Typically, a bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) and at least 10 years of relevant experience, unless prohibited by local laws or regulations.
  • At least 10 years of experience in one or more of the following: subassembly design, integration, and production support; analog, digital, and power electronics design, integration, and production support; or deconvolving high-level requirements into actionable electronics designs and subsystem architectures.
  • Experience in electrical subsystems, systems engineering, requirements development and validation, Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) design, test integration, and/or supplier management on an effector-based product.
  • Business acumen, communication skills, and experience with risk and opportunity management.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance before the start date; U.S. citizenship is required.
