About The Position

As a Senior Manager, Product Operations, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive, design and develop innovative consumer products. This role involves leading a team responsible for defining and committing to the operations plan for the delivery of innovative consumer products within Kindle Product Operations. Operating at the earliest and most influential stage of the Product Development Process (PDP), the pre-concept phase, you will combine expertise in business ownership, commodity knowledge, and product technical needs. You will serve as the operations authority, shaping the product roadmap for Kindle devices by influencing critical choices before designs are finalized and features locked. The position requires leadership in a cross-functional, matrixed, open, and collaborative peer environment. You will lead a small team of highly skilled operations professionals to define future product concepts, spending significant time in collaborative sessions with product managers and engineers to frame complex tradeoffs between customer experience, technical performance, development timelines, and cost. You will proactively guide teams toward viable directions in the ambiguity of pre-concept development, assessing strategic recommendations and diving deep into manufacturing requirements to evaluate the feasibility of novel approaches. The Kindle Product Operations organization drives innovation in consumer electronics, bringing products from concept to customer hands. The early-stage costing function is critical, where strategic decisions have maximum leverage despite information uncertainty. The team values analytical rigor, practical judgment, collaborative problem-solving, and the courage to influence difficult decisions, working alongside engineers, product managers, and supply chain professionals dedicated to delivering exceptional customer experiences at sustainable costs.
