About The Position
The Sr Mgr CoMan/CoPacking Quality US leads execution of The Hershey Company's Product Excellence Program across its US-region CMG (Candy, Mint & Gum) comanufacturing and copacking facilities, as well as The Hershey Experience and Food Service businesses. The role is accountable for food safety, food quality, and regulatory matters across this scope and leads a team supporting innovation, capacity projects, continuous improvement, program execution, and daily operations. It works with functions across the company and serves as the primary escalation contact for the comanufacturer and copacker network, in partnership with the GMA team manufacturing CMG products. The role provides quality and regulatory leadership across the CMG network by executing the quality strategy, ensuring Product Excellence Program compliance, and making risk-based decisions that ensure compliance, protect consumers, and advance business objectives. It leads quality integration for innovation, commercialization, productivity, and strategic initiatives, including defining quality requirements, driving risk assessment and mitigation, applying food safety and quality design principles, and enabling successful launch and scale-up of products, processes, and technologies. The position leads the establishment of quality systems, including food safety plans, HACCP, audit readiness, CAPA governance, validation and verification programs, quality design reviews, and startup approvals for innovation and capacity lines. It builds organizational capability by developing a high-performing team of quality professionals and drives enterprise quality performance through data and insights, defining key performance indicators, identifying emerging risks and improvement opportunities, prioritizing resources, and leading cross-functional initiatives. The network includes 30 comanufacturers and 14 copackers across the US and Canada, plus 10 Hershey Experience and 55 Food Service/Licensing partnerships across the US.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; a science-based field is preferred.
- Certifications in SQF, PCQI, and HACCP required.
- Minimum 7 years of manufacturing experience in a high-speed automated consumer goods environment required; food industry experience preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with progressive responsibility in Quality Assurance required.
- Knowledge of the Food Safety Modernization Act, HACCP, and/or USDA regulatory compliance required.
