About The Position

The Senior Manager of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) manages and develops the VDC function across a portion of the business unit to drive cross-functional performance and achieve strategic objectives. The role applies advanced VDC expertise and leadership to promote model-based workflows, optimize project delivery through cross-functional integration, and resolve issues before they affect construction. It develops customer-focused strategies to differentiate DPR’s VDC practices, allocates resources, and improves processes to optimize cost, quality, and schedule. The position partners with executive leadership and stakeholders to implement VDC initiatives, recommend changes, and align VDC efforts with broader business goals. The role oversees VDC teams, supports talent development, monitors workloads and barriers to success, and helps front-line VDC staff grow. It develops VDC estimates and forecasts, tracks resource effort, reviews performance indicators, estimates return on investment, and shares lessons learned and success stories. It also fosters collaboration and knowledge sharing within VDC and across other workgroups.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, a related field, or equivalent experience.
At least 8 years of experience in VDC, Building Information Modeling (BIM), or a related field.
2–4 years of experience in a managerial capacity.

Responsibilities

Oversee the VDC function across assigned teams, driving excellence in project deliverables and advancing talent development.
Engage with front-line VDC resources to identify and mitigate barriers to success, balance workloads, and support learning and development.
Develop accurate VDC estimates and forecasts, and document and status the effort of VDC resources.
Manage and review achievement of VDC performance indicators to support customer and project needs.
Estimate return on investment and facilitate the sharing of success stories and lessons learned.
Foster collaboration, partnerships, and the sharing of information and expertise within VDC and with other workgroups.
Develop customer-focused strategies, allocate resources, and improve processes to optimize cost, quality, and schedule.
Partner with executive leadership and stakeholders to interpret and implement VDC initiatives, recommend changes, and align efforts with business goals.
