About The Position

Business Operations Management is responsible for enabling predictable execution of business strategy through disciplined planning, governance, financial rigor, and cross‑functional alignment. The team partners closely with executive leadership, GIS, Product Groups, and Program Management to ensure accountability, scalability, and operational excellence. As Senior Business Operations Manager, you will be accountable to establish and operate the business processes, accountability systems, and execution governance required to meet strategic and financial commitments. You will serve as a trusted operational leader and Chief of Staff to the pathfinding group leadership, ensuring alignment across functions, transparency in performance, and disciplined follow-through on priorities. Leads process improvement initiatives through the disciplined use of measurements, accountability, analysis and discussion of process alternatives in order to arrive at best practices. Plans, manages, and controls the activities of a team that provides operational support for a business segment, group or team. Brings expertise or identifies subject matter experts in support of multi-functional efforts in process improvement, data capture and analysis, infrastructure support, tool ownership and compliance with procedures, etc. Advises business groups by providing strategic direction to initiative prioritization, integration and resource application. Ensures that policies and procedures align with corporate vision. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel ensuring efficient operation of the function.

Requirements

  • Proven senior‑level experience in Business Operations, Program Management, or Operations leadership.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and resource allocations.
  • Demonstrated success operating in a matrixed, global environment.
  • Executive presence with the ability to represent senior leaders and influence outcomes without direct authority.
  • High level of judgment, discretion, and accountability.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience working across Engineering, Finance, Human Resources and GIS

Responsibilities

  • Establish, maintain, and continuously improve business processes and accountability systems across the organization as required to support execution.
  • Ensure operational rigor, clarity of ownership, and consistent follow‑through.
  • Own and manage all LMS accountability mechanisms, including: QBR, QOR, QCR, QFR, Pro‑Forma Reviews, Balanced Scorecard Reviews (BSR), Organizational Audits.
  • Ensure action tracking, closure, and executive level reporting.
  • Integrate Corporate 5‑year financial forecasts into operating and planning processes.
  • Lead AOP objective alignment, tracking, and accountability within OCTO with GIS and Product Groups.
  • Own AIP management and tracking.
  • Manage OPEX and CAPEX budgets for assigned scope.
  • Own headcount planning and management, including HC forecasting and cost allocation by project and business area.
  • Provide operational oversight for offices and laboratories including remote locations for the team you support.
  • Coordinate with Finance, Facilities, IT, and HR to ensure compliant and efficient operations.
  • Lead contract reviews and approvals, partnering with Legal and Finance to ensure compliance and alignment with business objectives.
  • Serve as Chief of Staff, acting as an extension of executive leadership.
  • Chair staff meetings and ensure cadence, agendas, and action closure.
  • Develop executive‑level materials and presentations as required.
  • Support scheduling and planning for: Staff at sites, Extended Staff Meetings, Annual Executive Meeting (AEM).
  • Represent the executive in leadership and governance forums as required, including: Act as approval delegate during executive absence.
