Sr. Mechanical Design Engineering Manager PGM

Honeywell Aerospace•Phoenix, AZ

About The Position

The Sr. Mechanical Design Engineering Manager – PGM leads the mechanical design engineering function responsible for Honeywell Aerospace’s power generators and motors. The role oversees mechanical architecture, detailed design execution, cross-functional integration, and lifecycle partnership for generator and motor hardware used in commercial, defense, and advanced technology programs. It manages an engineering team delivering new product introduction, product sustainment, technology maturation, and mechanical design excellence for rotating electrical machines. The team is located at three North American sites: Torrance, California; Phoenix, Arizona; and Mexicali, Mexico. Up to 25% travel is expected to support the team. The role is within Design, Installations & Services Engineering. It leads mechanical design strategy and execution across PGM hardware, ensures designs meet technical and program requirements, directs mechanical work scopes and deliverables, and develops a global engineering team. It also partners with Power Systems and ISC leadership on technology direction and investment priorities, advances digital engineering and design methodologies, and owns compliance with applicable standards, customer requirements, export regulations, and aerospace and military certification requirements. Candidates must be a U.S. person as defined in the posting: a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, someone with protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status, or someone able to obtain export authorization. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM field; 10 or more years of relevant experience; and demonstrated engineering-team and technical-program leadership. Experience with digital engineering, parametric design, and advanced CAD toolchain development is valued.
