The engineer creates 3D core and coil designs using the engineering automation platform (EAP), verifies designs against Delta Star standards and technical decisions, and develops internal shop drawings, connection diagrams, woodwork structures, and lead routing using Autodesk Inventor. The role also produces material usage files for ERP integration and supports production by resolving design issues and providing technical guidance. Over time, responsibilities expand to external transformer designs, tank drawings, and programming plasma and wood routing machines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2–5 years of combined experience in power transformer design and engineering, including at least 2 years focused on mechanical design.
  • Must live or be willing to relocate to within a reasonable safe commute of the assigned plant location.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer for U.S.-based positions.
  • Proficiency in CAD software.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate effectively with teams.

Responsibilities

  • Generate 3D core and coil designs using EAP, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Create internal core, coil, and layout shop drawings and verify them for accuracy.
  • Design internal woodwork structures and perform 3D lead routing using Autodesk Inventor.
  • Develop internal connection diagrams based on transformer nameplates.
  • Produce material usage files for ERP system analysis and material ordering.
  • Provide production support by addressing missing dimensions, details, and auxiliary views, and offering technical guidance.
  • Over time, design external transformer parts, create tank drawings, and program plasma and wood routing machines.
