About The Position

Lanteris Space is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer to join its Configuration organization. The Mechanical Configuration organization is responsible for spacecraft-level layout design, accommodating subsystems compatibly throughout all phases of a spacecraft mission. The team translates Systems Engineering specifications and block diagrams into 3D designs used to build spacecraft, optimizing layouts for system performance, assembly and test accessibility, payload performance, and mass properties. It documents interfaces between major subsystems to ensure proper fit and alignment during spacecraft integration. Engineering support begins during the proposal phase and continues through preparations for launch. Designs range from component support bracketry to spacecraft top assembly documentation. The position is based at the company’s Mountain View, California offices and may also be performed remotely within the U.S.
