About The Position

BorgWarner is hiring a Senior Mechanical CAD (MCAD) Designer for its Industrial Power Solutions team, with work based in Kokomo, Indiana, or Auburn Hills, Michigan. The designer will lead clean-sheet mechanical designs from concept through production, owning MCAD work from top-level assemblies to detailed components and complex tooled parts. The role involves creating large, detailed models with robust geometry efficiently to support rapid iteration and design maturity. The Industrial Power Solutions team designs and manufactures hardware for industrial power systems, including grid-tied inverters, in-rack power supply units, and DC/DC converters. The team uses lean processes tailored to customer needs and typically works on design cycles of around one year. The position also includes mentoring junior designers, planning work against project milestones, communicating recovery strategies when challenges arise, and conducting design reviews. The position adheres to BorgWarner’s Global Star Safety Program and local safety policies. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. BorgWarner may provide employment visa sponsorship based on business need.
