Sr. Manager, Policy

Suno•San Francisco, CA

About The Position

Suno is hiring a Sr. Manager, Policy to lead Trust & Safety Policy. The role owns and shapes policies and partners with Product, Engineering, Legal, ML, and Communications to address violative content, fraud, bots, identity issues, music rights, and regulatory obligations. Because music generation occurs at a scale that cannot be handled by human review alone, the role focuses on policies that make enforcement systems scalable, accurate, and measurable. The position reports to the Head of Trust & Safety. The role is responsible for the Trust & Safety policy portfolio, including content and behavior policies, enforcement standards, and the policy roadmap as generation volume and product surfaces expand. It develops machine-enforceable policies, handles generative-AI music issues such as artist voice impersonation and synthetic content disclosure, translates regulatory obligations into internal policy and audit-ready documentation, and oversees policy development, escalation frameworks, and post-launch measurement. The role also contributes to community guidelines and transparency reporting and works with Product and Engineering to shape features before launch.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in trust and safety, platform policy, or integrity work.
  • At least 3 years owning a policy domain at a user-generated-content or generative-AI platform.
  • A portfolio of policies written and launched, with the ability to explain their risk assessment, enforcement design, and revisions based on post-launch data.
  • Demonstrated experience making policy machine-enforceable through decision trees, model-threshold input, labeling taxonomies, or reviewer guidance that produced measurable consistency gains.
  • Fluency in the regulatory landscape shaping platform policy, including DSA, OSA, and emerging AI-content regimes, and experience converting obligations into operational requirements.
  • Working knowledge of music rights, intellectual property, or media licensing sufficient to develop credible policy with Legal.
  • Evidence of influencing Product, Engineering, and Legal to adopt policy positions they did not initially support.
  • Strong writing skills, with the ability to produce precise, enforceable, and publicly defensible writing for operators, executives, and regulators.

Nice To Haves

  • Music, media, or IP-adjacent platform experience and familiarity with rights-matching abuse patterns.
  • Direct exposure to DSA, OSA, or emerging AI-content regulatory regimes as operational requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Trust & Safety policy portfolio, including content and behavior policies, enforcement standards, and the policy roadmap.
  • Translate policy principles into decision criteria, model thresholds, and reviewer guidance that enable consistent enforcement at millions of generations per day.
  • Own policy for generative-AI music issues, including artist voice impersonation, rights-adjacent abuse, synthetic content disclosure, and prompt-level misuse, in partnership with Legal.
  • Convert regulatory obligations, including DSA, OSA, and emerging AI-content regimes, into enforceable internal policy and audit-ready documentation.
  • Run the policy development lifecycle, including risk assessment, stakeholder review, launch guidance, enforcement calibration, and post-launch measurement of effectiveness.
  • Establish escalation and edge-case frameworks defining decision makers, timelines, and precedents.
  • Publish or contribute to community guidelines, transparency reporting inputs, and policy explanations for creators.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering early so policy informs features before launch.
  • Partner regularly with Communications, Product, Engineering, ML, and Legal.

Benefits

  • Company equity package.
  • 401(k) with 3% employer match and Roth 401(k).
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance, with PPO, HSA, and FSA options.
  • 11 paid holidays and unlimited PTO and sick time.
  • 16 weeks of paid parental leave.
  • Creative education stipend.
  • Generous commuter allowance.
  • In-office lunch five days per week.
