We are seeking an experienced and strategic Sr. Manager of Global Benefits who will play a critical role in taking Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies (RV Tech) programs and operations to the next level. This position will report directly to the Sr. Director of People at RV Tech and will be located out of our Palo Alto, CA office at least 3 days per week. The person hired for the role is responsible for managing the day-to-day operational Benefits programs including vendor management. You’ll collaborate closely with other internal partners, such as Compensation, Equity, Global Mobility, HR Business Partners, Payroll, Finance, Accounting, Treasury and Legal.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience with at least 5+ years of US Benefits Management/Leadership experience ideally in a high-growth, scaling, technology environment.
  • Ability to effectively manage a variety of projects and initiatives concurrently.
  • Experience managing US Benefit programs with a deep understanding of ERISA.
  • Ability to adapt and drive operational optimization, program and process improvements and continuously simplify processes to enhance the employee experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems; lead cross-organizational efforts; build relationships across organization boundaries; commitment to quality and continuous improvement; analysis skills and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to use sound business judgment when collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to execute processes accurately and on time.

  • Systems experience: Workday and G-suite (Gmail, Google Calendar, G-Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct oversight of all benefits programs, vendor partnerships, policies, processes and identify optimization opportunities to further develop and evolve RV Tech’s benefit programs.
  • Oversee and ensure compliance for all benefit programs including enrollment system, medical/pharmacy, dental, vision, Life Insurance and Disability, family programs, 401(k), Spending and Saving Accounts, and Wellness plans.
  • Oversee Benefit communication campaigns (Open Enrollment, etc.) and effectively communicating benefit plans to employees. Act as the primary contact for team members consulting on complex benefit issues and cases.
  • Collaborate with benefit consultants and plan provider leadership teams to ensure seamless administration and strategic program oversight. In partnership with the Benefits broker/consultant, conduct research and analysis to recommend new benefit programs that keep RV Tech competitive and cost-effective, including managing various Requests for Proposals on benefit program solutions.
  • Support the vision, analysis, research, communication, and administration of strategic benefit programs. Align these programs with the company’s growth strategy, business objectives, and talent acquisition and retention goals.
  • Manage and configure the systems and technology that support benefit plans and eligibility. Work closely with Payroll, HRIS (Workday), and HR Shared Services to ensure an exceptional employee experience.
  • Collaborate with Finance on budgeting and financial analysis of benefit programs. Monitor high-cost claims, target problem and trend areas, and ensure accurate budget planning and tracking.
  • Oversee existing disease management and wellbeing programs, analyze their effectiveness, and recommend new initiatives.
  • Ensure all benefit programs comply with governmental regulations and labor laws, including ERISA, FMLA, ACA, HIPAA and CAA. Provide oversight for all required testing, audits, reporting, and SOX compliance.
