Sr. Manager, Business Resilience — Response Operations (Remote)

CrowdStrike•USA CA Remote, ON
•$130,000 - $205,000•Remote

About The Position

The Sr. Manager, Response Operations leads the Response Operations function within CrowdStrike’s Business Resilience organization. This role owns the enterprise crisis response framework, including its standards, plans, playbooks, activation processes, exercises, training, readiness cadences, and after-action improvement. The position enables CrowdStrike’s crisis teams to respond effectively to business, technology, cyber, product, security, and customer-impacting events. It is not the standing Incident Commander for every event, but the role holds a designated shift in the on-call rotation and must be ready to assume Incident Commander responsibilities during a coverage gap, surge, or escalation. The accountable program lead also maintains an always-on posture, staying aware, reachable, and ready to engage when significant events develop. The successful candidate brings crisis-program ownership, SaaS and customer-impact fluency, sound operational judgment under pressure, executive communication skills, and the ability to build durable response capability across the enterprise. The role is open to candidates anywhere in the United States or Canada, provided they can work a schedule aligned with Pacific Time business hours. On-call shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays; the role also requires reachability outside the designated shift when significant events develop.

Requirements

  • Experience operating in a technology, SaaS, cloud, or security-product environment; security SaaS experience is strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to take a designated shift in the crisis team on-call rotation, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when on shift, and to remain reachable as the accountable program lead when significant events develop outside that shift.
  • Demonstrated experience owning a corporate crisis management, incident management, or business resilience program on an ongoing basis, with strong program-management discipline across multi-stakeholder dependencies and recurring deliverables.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as or directly supporting an Incident Commander or response lead, with the ability to step into the Incident Commander role during an activation.
  • Experience building and leading a team, including hiring, performance management, and coaching.
  • Track record of executive-ready writing and briefing, and of influencing senior stakeholders in sensitive, high-stakes situations while preserving relationships.
  • 12 or more years in crisis/incident management, business resilience, or technology operations leadership, including significant time in a SaaS or technology product environment; the experience requirement may be flexible depending on experience and potential.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience using AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency, and drive business outcomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer-facing incident-management experience, such as handling customer escalations, trust and retention considerations, or executive customer communications.
  • Experience managing incidents from a Customer Success or other customer-facing vantage point, rather than solely from an internal or press/crisis-communications function.
  • Experience managing managers or senior specialists.
  • Experience with crisis management software platforms and collaboration tools.
  • Knowledge of ISO 22301 and related resilience standards.
  • Familiarity with NIMS / Incident Command System (ICS), adapted to a corporate rather than public-sector context.
  • Certifications in business continuity or resilience, such as CBCP, MBCI, or CEM.
  • Experience developing customer-facing incident communications.

Responsibilities

  • Own the crisis response program’s strategy, standards, roadmap, governance, plans, playbooks, activation processes, and operating cadences.
  • Take a designated shift in the crisis team on-call rotation and assume Incident Commander responsibilities when a coverage gap or escalation requires it.
  • Remain aware of developing significant events, reachable, and ready to engage as the accountable program lead outside the designated shift.
  • Partner with crisis team leads to align roles, escalation paths, continuity support, customer-impact considerations, and handoffs across significant events.
  • Produce accurate, complete situation reports, executive briefings, and after-action reviews by establishing facts from source information and communicating them appropriately for each audience.
  • Design and facilitate exercises and training; lead after-action reviews; and drive corrective actions, lessons learned, and readiness improvements through completion.
  • Support executive leadership during activations and steady-state planning, bringing prepared options and decisions and reducing logistical burden on leaders.
  • Hire, develop, and coach the Response Operations team, building sufficient bench depth to ensure response capability and on-call coverage do not depend on one person.
  • Partner with Business Continuity, Enterprise Risk Management, Incident Management, Information Security, Product Security, Global Security/GSOC, Communications, and Customer Response to align resilience capabilities.
