Position Summary The Senior HR Generalist is a hands-on, onsite partner to our manufacturing leadership and frontline employees across multiple shifts. This role leads full-spectrum HR support—including workforce planning and recruiting for skilled trades, employee relations, performance management, training, HR operations, and compliance—while driving a high-performing, safe, and inclusive plant culture. The Senior HR Generalist acts as a trusted advisor to supervisors and managers, balancing strategic guidance with day-to-day problem solving in a fast-paced production environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) in a related field
  • 4+ years related experience
  • May be required to maintain security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Supports end-to-end recruiting for hourly shop-floor roles (production, maintenance, quality), skilled trades, and key salaried positions; partner with operations to forecast headcount and reduce time-to-fill and overtime dependence.
  • Manage onboarding and orientation; ensure new hires have a safe, engaging start with clear training plans and job expectations.
  • Serve as primary ER contact for supervisors and employees across all shifts within client group; coach leaders on feedback, documentation, and progressive discipline aligned to policy and employment law.
  • Conduct impartial investigations, issue findings and recommendations for actions.
  • Supports corporate culture initiatives as assigned for the business/function.
  • Facilitate performance management cycles—goal setting, check-ins, calibrations—and provide targeted coaching to elevate team and individual performance.
  • Administer HRIS transactions, job changes, and pay actions; partner with payroll for accuracy.
  • Manage leave programs (FMLA, ADA-related accommodations) and attendance policies.
  • Maintain accurate personnel files and HR metrics; deliver weekly/monthly reports (turnover, absenteeism, time-to-fill, training completion).
  • Ensure compliance with federal/state/local regulations (EEO, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, OSHA) and company policies; support audit readiness and documentation standards.
  • Partner with EHS on safety communications, incident response, and corrective/preventive actions; reinforce safety culture in daily interactions and toolbox talks.
  • Support leadership training development (coaching skills, documentation, investigations, safety leadership) and hourly-employee training (workplace conduct, respect, harassment prevention).
  • Support engagement initiatives in alignment with HR Team initiatives (recognition programs, stay interviews, action planning from surveys).
  • Support change management during line expansions, technology upgrades, or organizational changes.
  • Use HR analytics to identify trends (turnover drivers, attendance hot spots, hiring trends) and design practical interventions.
  • Lead or support Kaizen/continuous improvement efforts in HR processes (recruiting workflow, onboarding experience, training effectiveness).
  • Assists with the tactical support of the Business Talent Review Process providing training and communication to employees as assigned.
