About The Position

This role requires a Sr. HR Generalist with a strong background in human resources, particularly in employee relations and workplace investigations. The position involves applying knowledge of employment laws and handling confidential information with discretion. Experience in higher education and unionized environments is preferred.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, psychology or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• At least 5 years of progressively responsible HR experience
• At least 3 years handling employee relations matters
• Working knowledge of employment laws, including Title VII, FMLA, ADA, FLSA and Minnesota employment law
• Demonstrated experience leading workplace investigations and documenting findings and corrective action
• Experience handling confidential information with discretion

Nice To Haves

• HR experience in higher education, including work with faculty and academic leaders
• Experience in a unionized environment, including grievances and contract interpretation
• Formal training in workplace investigations
• SHRM - SCP, SPHR, SHRM-CP, PHR or a comparable HR certification
• Experience coaching managers on performance management
