This role plans and prepares production schedules for the manufacture of industrial, commercial, and Marine products in the Foundry.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Responsibilities

  • Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation in the Foundry to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
  • Analyzes production specifications and Foundry capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine Foundry processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
  • Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
  • Plans sequence of Patterns, Molding, Cores, and other foundry operations for guidance of production workers.
  • Confers with department supervisors to determine status and understanding of assigned projects.
  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Prepares production reports.
  • Prepares lists of required materials.
  • Tracks pieces shipped versus pieces made to help in maintaining one of the KPI’S for the foundry.
