About The Position

The Senior Epic Application Analyst is responsible for advancing the functionality and operational efficiency of Information Systems utilizing their expertise in Epic Applications. This entails intermediate to advanced analysis, design, configuration and implementation. This position is responsible for ensuring integration of technology into effective workflow and process design as well as ensuring operational efficiency of assigned Epic applications and integrated technology. Provides advanced ongoing analysis, consultation, complex problem-solving, collaboration and application support to users. Also responsible for contributing to system training. The Senior Epic Application Analyst utilizes their knowledge and skills to function as a technical resource on Epic and assume higher level project responsibilities. This position typically reports to an ISD manager or above. The Senior Epic Application Analyst – Willow Ambulatory is responsible for the analysis, design, configuration, implementation, optimization, and support of Epic Willow Ambulatory applications and related technologies supporting ambulatory pharmacy operations. This role partners with pharmacy staff, operational leaders, and technical teams to improve workflows, resolve complex application issues, support system upgrades and maintenance, and ensure effective integration of technology into daily operations across retail, specialty, and home health pharmacy environments. This position also supports new pharmacy builds, ongoing system enhancements, project coordination, user support, and training initiatives.

Requirements

Associates degree, preferred
Epic Willow Ambulatory Certification required
Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in a large, corporate systems development and implementation activities in a wide variety of Healthcare Information Systems (MIS) or similar experience in system analysis, design, building, testing and implementation or a combination of MIS and working knowledge of hospital operations required
Industry training and increasingly responsible experience with knowledge and skills in a large, complex corporate Information System
Previous Epic or other Health Information Systems experience required
Experience in supporting complex problems
Experience in assisting other Analysts
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Epic application support, development tools and methodologies
Good analytical skills and technical aptitude
Good planning and organizational skills
Good communication, collaboration and customer service skills
Demonstrated pattern of growth in ability to lead others

Nice To Haves

Strong understanding of ambulatory pharmacy workflows
Experience with Epic upgrades, system maintenance, and application support
Knowledge of medication loads, pricing updates, and insurance updates
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities and support complex projects
Experience supporting retail, specialty, or home health pharmacy operations preferred

Responsibilities

Translates user and department Epic system needs into technical solutions.
Performs project reviews and process walk throughs incorporating technical, clinical and business solutions that will enhance user productivity and department service levels.
Provides technical knowledge in the support of Epic as well as other software applications and operating systems.
Performs intermediate to advanced analysis, design, building, testing, and implementation of Epic and other computer programs and systems.
Demonstrates and applies information systems theory, processes and methodologies.
Acts as an advocate for setting and enforcing technical development, application support and information management standards within and outside of the Information Systems Department.
Demonstrates in-depth knowledge and techniques in supporting development projects and complex problem solving efforts involving Epic and other applications.
Participates in after-hours technical support by rotating call schedule on a regular basis.
Provides ongoing Epic support to users.
Develops, prioritizes and executes projects according to established schedules and timeframes.
Maintains an effective level of coordination on all assigned projects.
Documents and reports on all plans, priorities and schedules.
Informs Manager of status of all project assignments regularly.
Contributes to the preparation and delivery of training sessions for staff.
Thinks, plans, leads and acts appropriately in tactical settings.
Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
Provides effective customer service by being courteous, polite and friendly toward others at all times.
