Sr. Energy Marshal

Integra•Quanah, TX

About The Position

The Sr. Energy Marshal leads and enforces Integra’s Hazardous Energy Control Plan (HECP) throughout the lifecycle of a critical infrastructure project. The role ensures that energy isolation activities are performed safely, consistently, and in compliance with local codes and Integra standards. As the subject matter expert for energy isolation, the Energy Marshal works with engineering, construction, and operations teams to mitigate risks and maintain schedule integrity. The position develops and implements project-wide lockout/tagout procedures, coordinates and monitors isolation work, reviews high-risk work plans, verifies personnel qualifications and protective equipment, supports incident investigations, and reports on project compliance. It also develops controls for hazardous energy sources including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical, and thermal systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings and system redundancies for effective LOTO design.
  • Strong understanding of MEPI hazardous energy control in mission-critical environments.
  • Master Electrician-level equivalent and 10–12+ years of technical engineering experience in project- or field-based work.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in commissioning or energy isolation for large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with MEP systems, electrical theory, and critical equipment such as switchgear, UPS, and generators.
  • Knowledge of identifying and controlling hazardous energy in MEP systems beyond electrical, including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical, and thermal systems.
  • Knowledge of construction documentation and building management systems.
  • Excellent communication and diplomacy skills for coordinating across multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Drive compliance with Integra’s Hazardous Energy Control Plan (HECP) across all project phases.
  • Establish HECP acceptance criteria and verify implementation.
  • Apply local codes and standards as the foundation for the project HECP.
  • Develop and implement centralized Lockout Tag Out (LOTO) procedures for all project entities and determine group versus individual LOTO requirements.
  • Initiate and manage energy isolation activities and provide continuous progress updates.
  • Coordinate with construction teams to prevent isolation activities from impacting core operations.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for energy-isolation incident investigations within the project scope.
  • Participate in High-Risk Activity (HRA) planning meetings and review high-risk SOWs, SOPs, and MOPs to ensure all hazardous energy sources are identified.
  • Verify personnel qualifications, training, and PPE compliance for isolation tasks.
  • Produce monthly project reports summarizing hazardous energy isolation activities and compliance status.
  • Develop controls for hazardous energy, including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical, and thermal systems.
