The Radio Device RF System Engineer will develop radio transceiver mixed-signal subsystems for high-reliability public safety communications equipment. The role uses commercial off-the-shelf ICs and RF components, as well as custom CMOS technologies and custom mixed-signal digital, RF, and analog circuits. The completed transceiver systems are intended for Motorola Solutions radio products. The position is 100% onsite, Monday through Friday, in Plantation, Florida. The engineer translates product-level radio requirements into microarchitectural specifications for mixed-signal circuits, including RF systems for PLLs, fractional multi-loop synthesizers, baseband and RF amplifiers and filters, AGC subsystems, and digital state machines for RF control. The role also develops behavioral system models, manages block-level specifications to meet overall system performance goals, assesses and integrates third-party IP and COTS ICs, and develops power-modeling and thermal-management strategies across operating modes and low-power states. The engineer collaborates with digital design, analog layout, firmware and software, verification, radio product, and test engineering teams through circuit and system specification, silicon tape-out, bring-up, and deployment into radio products. The team is part of Advanced Development Engineering, which designs and develops mission-critical communications equipment, RF modems, integrated circuits, and related circuit modules and subsystems.
