About The Position

The Senior EHS Specialist at Boston Scientific Johns Creek advocates for environmental health and safety as a core value while driving continuous improvement and ensuring comprehensive operational compliance with federal, state and local regulations. This role follows an on-site work model. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in EHS, including 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Working knowledge of local and federal EHS regulations and standards, including OSHA and EPA.
  • Experience creating and managing EHS programs.
  • Experience developing and leading EHS training.
  • Knowledge of injury and incident prevention programs, including ergonomics, risk assessments and root cause analysis.
  • Demonstrated proficiency leveraging AI-enabled EHS tools and enterprise information management.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, occupational health, safety or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in EHS, including 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Certified EHS professional credentials, such as CSP, CIH or CHMM.
  • Strong knowledge of local and federal EHS regulations and standards.
  • Experience cultivating a safety culture and driving continuous improvement.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels, inside and outside the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Partnering with production staff, cross-functional teams and site leadership to identify and control significant environmental health and safety impacts of operations.
  • Serving as an EHS representative on cross-functional projects, including new process and chemical introductions, capacity expansion, facility changes and new equipment introductions.
  • Maintaining site EHS metrics, statistics and records to support compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
  • Identifying hazardous workplace conditions and helping establish guidelines for compliance, risk reduction and injury prevention.
  • Supporting management of the workers’ compensation program and proactively reducing workplace injury frequency and severity rates.
  • Conducting SDS and operational risk assessments to specify engineering controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducting internal and external EHS compliance audits, self-assessments, safety surveys and inspections.
  • Maintaining EHS programs and participating in new program implementation.
  • Providing regulatory guidance for facility modifications, equipment specifications, installations and process improvements.
  • Chairing or serving on EHS-related committees, task forces and cross-functional teams.
  • Serving as the facility’s hazardous materials and waste coordinator, including management of hazardous, nonregulated and biomedical waste streams.
