Job Summary: The Casey Family Programs, Child and Family Services (CFS), Senior Director of Operations serves as a member of the CFS Senior Leadership Team reporting to the CFS Managing Director for Practice and Operations. As a strategic and operational leader, the Sr. Director of Operations manages the continuous quality improvement efforts of CFS as well as the business processes for the department. This includes ensuring that all operational activities are consistent with practice, policy, and administrative standards. This position is responsible for oversight of the CFS budget, contractual and administrative agreements, and data analysis and management, among other functions.

Requirements

  • Masters degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in child welfare or a related field required.
  • Proven track record of progressive leadership in operations, including supervision and management.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining operational and administrative standards required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of field office operation.
  • Technical expertise to oversee data and reporting processes.
  • Superb judgement.
  • Able to work under short deadlines, understands urgency, and is adept at multi-tasking.
  • Experience in leadership, management, supervision, and coordination of a team is essential to success in this position.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and a thorough understanding of continuous process improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, respect for tribal sovereignty, and respect for cultural, racial, and gender difference is required.
  • Personal qualities demonstrating adaptability, curiosity, collaboration and a capacity for self-reflection and commitment to lifelong learning are a must.
  • Ability to contribute effectively with and across teams and with external partners necessary.
  • Ability to protect the confidentiality of sensitive information by learning and following all relevant policies and protocols and using sound judgment in the handling and sharing of that information.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook) and Tableau.
  • Ability to learn other pertinent software is required.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift and reach for light objects; close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data, text, and figures; ability to type utilizing a computer keyboard; ability to travel to outside locations; and the ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time as a primary job function.

  • Demonstrated leadership in supervision, as well as indirect supervision through coaching, is highly desired; proven effective management with successful outcomes and solid organizational trust is highly desired; flexibility, critical thinking, and priority setting are key competencies in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises multiple CFS Practice & Operations team members, CQI Advisors, Project Administrator, and Administrative Specialist.
  • Provides leadership opportunities for employees that enable growth and encourage leadership development within the position.
  • Ensures that employees receive the appropriate training, coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations.
  • Defines and executes a multi-year strategy to modernize and maintain CFS’ technology, supporting CFS to transition to an integrated direct service software ecosystem.
  • Serves as the relationship lead with Technology Services.
  • Leads CFS Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives (e.g., Quality and Compliance Reviews), including CQI reporting and data analysis tools and requirements, protocols and processes to improve CFS practice and outcomes focused on impact.
  • Leads the evolution of the case management system to ensure it serves as a supportive and helpful tool for direct service work with a high quality user experience.
  • Manages the analysis, development and implementation of core business processes, policies and procedures to create and maintain an infrastructure that supports program and practice.
  • Ensures business processes are integrated and adhered to across CFS and that administrative standards reflect required standards from the Council on Accreditation, and licensing regulations.
  • Ensures best practices are identified and followed throughout CFS.
  • Oversees all aspects of CFS contract development, monitoring, reporting, and other protocols; and serves as the CFS management liaison to Legal Services.
  • Oversees all aspects of the CFS budget, including budget preparation, monitoring and reporting.
  • Provides oversight and monitoring across CFS.
  • Leads on all issues related to budgets and is the CFS management liaison to Finance Services.
  • Manages the Continuing Education and Job Training (CEJT) scholarship program which provides financial and program support to young adults as they pursue post-secondary training and education.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
