About The Position

The Senior Direct Support Professional supports individuals with disabilities in a residential setting. The role includes help with household tasks and personal care, transportation to appointments and activities, and behavioral and social support. The position may also include occasional sleepover shifts or supervising a residential home when no Residential Supervisor is present, as well as other duties assigned by the Residential Supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license with two years of consecutive driving experience and fewer than three moving violations within the past 36 months.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background, physical, TB, and drug screenings.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds as needed.
• Previous direct support or caregiving experience and/or experience working with individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Complete light housework, including cooking, meal preparation, and cleaning.
• Maintain personal care and hygiene routines, including feeding, medication administration, bathing, showering, and toileting.
• Provide transportation to and from doctor’s appointments, outside activities, and excursions.
• Provide behavioral and social support, including working with potential physical and verbal outbursts or aggressiveness.
• Work occasional sleepover shifts and/or supervise a residential home when no Residential Supervisor is present.
• Assist the Residential Supervisor with other assigned duties.
