We boldly go. Work arrangement: located within the Pacific Southwest Region. Trane is seeking a Sr. Remote Support Specialist in the Pacific Southwest Region. In this role, you will leverage your HVAC knowledge and Controls skills to analyze, remotely diagnose, and optimize a variety of connected commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. This role is primarily focused on supporting our Connected Mechanical Service Agreement customers. Trane is recognized worldwide as the brand standard for HVAC and Building Controls Systems. Requirements

  • Strong ability to work in a team environment
  • A High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience
  • Ten (10), or more years’ experience in HVAC control systems and mechanical equipment service; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • IT/Network understanding – knowledge of IP/subnet/gateway and DNS importance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other IT professionals.
  • Ability to troubleshoot & inspect HVAC systems and mechanical equipment remotely.
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and comfortable with hand-held devices (i.e. Smartphone, iPad).
  • A valid driver’s license, with no major or frequent traffic violations.
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.
  • Flexibility to work in the field, at customer job sites, as required.
  • Flexibility to travel within the Pacific Southwest region, as required.
  • Must be able to safely and legally operate a vehicle using a seat belt.
  • Must be able to wear helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harness and safety boots to safely perform job duties.
  • Must be able to twist the trunk of your body 90 degrees in each direction.
  • Must be able to squat and touch the floor with both hands.
  • Must be able to reach your hands over your head.
  • Must be able to stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods, routinely up to 4 hours.
  • This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling and climbing ladders.
  • It requires employees to regularly lift and or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move more than 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to safely use a ladder with a 350 lb. total weight limit, while carrying equipment of 50 lbs. or less.
  • Must be able to maneuver confined access areas, as small as 30” vertical x 45” horizontal.
  • Must be able to comfortably and routinely access rooftops with extension and/or fixed ladders at heights of 15’ to 20’, and occasionally, up to 50 feet +.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Trane Connect and Command Center to enable/map/tune equipment analytics, view remote diagnostics, perform connected Inspections on BAS systems & mechanical equipment and perform system optimizations.
  • Monitor critical building metrics.
  • Check systems & equipment for operational integrity.
  • Make small-scale adjustments to a building system programming.
  • Collaborate with salespersons, technicians, other team members, and customers.
  • Turns in all required paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
  • Represents company by serving as a professional, direct customer contact.
  • Keeps current on Trane products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems and mechanical equipment.
