About The Position

In this role, you will leverage your HVAC knowledge and Controls skills to analyze, remotely diagnose, and optimize a variety of connected commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. This role is primarily focused on supporting our Connected Mechanical Service Agreement customers. Requirements

  • Strong ability to work in a team environment.
  • A High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
  • Ten (10), or more years’ experience in HVAC control systems and mechanical equipment service; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • IT/Network understanding – knowledge of IP/subnet/gateway and DNS importance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other IT professionals.
  • Ability to troubleshoot & inspect HVAC systems and mechanical equipment remotely.
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and comfortable with hand-held devices (i.e. Smartphone, iPad).
  • A valid driver’s license, with no major or frequent traffic violations.
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.
  • Flexibility to work in the field, at customer job sites, as required.
  • Flexibility to travel within the Pacific Southwest region, as required (less than 10%).
  • Must be able to safely and legally operate a vehicle using a seat belt.
  • Must be able to wear helmets, safety goggles, fall protection harness and safety boots to safely perform job duties.
  • Must be able to twist the trunk of your body 90 degrees in each direction.
  • Must be able to squat and touch the floor with both hands.
  • Must be able to reach your hands over your head.
  • Must be able to stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods, routinely up to 4 hours.
  • Requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling and climbing ladders.
  • Requires employees to regularly lift and or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move more than 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to safely use a ladder with a 350 lb. total weight limit, while carrying equipment of 50 lbs. or less.
  • Must be able to maneuver confined access areas, as small as 30” vertical x 45” horizontal.
  • Must be able to comfortably and routinely access rooftops with extension and/or fixed ladders at heights of 15’ to 20’, and occasionally, up to 50 feet +.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Trane Connect and Command Center to enable/map/tune equipment analytics.
  • View remote diagnostics.
  • Perform connected Inspections on BAS systems & mechanical equipment.
  • Perform system optimizations.
  • Monitor critical building metrics.
  • Check systems & equipment for operational integrity.
  • Make small-scale adjustments to a building system programming.
  • Collaborate with salespersons, technicians, other team members, and customers.
  • Turn in all required paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
  • Represent company by serving as a professional, direct customer contact.
  • Keep current on Trane products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems and mechanical equipment.
