About The Position

The Sr. Database Administrator is the principal technical authority for ConstructConnect’s database platforms in a hybrid on-premises and cloud environment operating 24/7. The role covers SQL Server 2012–2025, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Azure SQL, and AWS RDS, and owns the infrastructure beneath the databases as well as database operations. This includes architecting and operating Windows Server Failover Clusters (WSFCs), SQL Server Failover Clustered Instances (FCIs), Availability Groups (AGs) and Distributed AGs, log shipping, and transactional replication. The position owns disaster recovery planning and RTO/RPO accountability, database security and SOX compliance, performance monitoring, and capacity planning. It also sets technical standards for database use by engineering teams through schema review, stored procedure development and refactoring, and guidance on query optimization and data access patterns. This is a technical lead role without direct reports, requiring both leadership and individual-contributor work. The position participates in an after-hours on-call rotation. The role is hybrid in Peachtree Corners, Georgia, within the IT Infrastructure division. Team members living within commuting distance of an office location in Atlanta, Georgia, are expected to work in a hybrid capacity with regular in-office presence determined by the team or department. All team members must reside and work in the United States.
