About The Position

OTC is seeking an experienced Air Compressor Technician to service, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair compressed air equipment in customer environments. The role involves working independently with air compressors, pumps, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment, diagnosing problems, and recommending ways to improve reliability and efficiency. Technicians represent OTC professionally, build customer relationships, and receive ongoing training and operational support. The position is based in the Greater Detroit distribution area.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience servicing rotary screw, oil-free, and/or oil-flooded air compressors.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong communication skills.
• Self-starter with a positive attitude and organized work habits.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a drug test and background check.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, and bend for extended periods.
• Coachable and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Service, troubleshoot, and repair air compressors, pumps, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment.
• Diagnose equipment issues and recommend solutions to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Identify and sell repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance.
• Complete accurate service reports and maintain compliance.
• Keep the service vehicle stocked with tools and parts.
• Respond to urgent and emergency service calls to minimize downtime.
• Represent OTC professionally and build strong customer relationships.
• Follow safety protocols and stay current through ongoing training.
• Be flexible and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
