Sr CNC Operator II, Second Shift
About The Position
The Sr CNC Operator II is responsible for operating a 3-axis CNC router, plate mill, and roll-forming equipment as part of Relativity Space’s Stage Manufacturing team, which builds Terran R’s primary structures. The role includes completing standard lift operations or assisting with critical lift operations, performing precision blending and deburring with power or hand tools, and conducting in-process inspections using tools such as micrometers, calipers, and pin gauges. The operator is expected to uphold Relativity Space’s standards for safety and shop cleanliness and foster an inclusive team environment. This is a second-shift position with a standard Monday-through-Friday schedule from 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. PT. The role is structured around a 50-hour workweek, including 10 guaranteed overtime hours each week, and includes a 10% shift differential in addition to base pay. The hiring range is $37.88–$56.83 USD. Relativity Space also offers competitive salary and equity, PTO and sick leave, parental leave, and an annual learning and development stipend.
Requirements
- Experience with metal fabrication techniques, including bending and rolling.
- At least 5 years of aerospace mechanical experience or experience in a related field.
- Experience with machining equipment such as mills and lathes.
- Proficiency with common hand tools and inspection tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or team communication tools such as Slack or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with rigging and crane operations.
- Experience with welding operations.
- Experience with CNC, robotics, and/or machine programming.
- Experience reading drawings and/or GD&T.
