About The Position

The Sr Business Systems Analyst contributes to the success of the Business Intelligence group by improving information management, business processes, physical process controls, and workflow to support operational reporting and analytics. The role focuses on exploring, documenting, and designing ways to meet business requirements through process improvements, data repository development, or user interface development that improves corporate performance. The analyst works with internal teams and business stakeholders to understand requirements, identify data sources, cleanse and standardize data, and match datasets. The role addresses challenges involving data sourcing and integration, data capture, reporting, analytics, and statistics. It also partners with Product, Engineering, technology architects, developers, and business organizations to design and deliver integrated solutions, maintain data flows and information management, and support reporting and dashboard deliverables. The position includes owning and prioritizing initiative backlogs, documenting and translating requirements into system specifications, supporting implementation and user acceptance testing, maintaining project documentation, and creating end-user materials and training. The analyst applies research and analytical skills to resolve problems and identify data integrity issues, exercising judgment and initiative in making recommendations and decisions.

Requirements

Experience serving as a Product Owner, Lead Business Analyst, or in a similar role within an Agile delivery environment.
Proficiency with modern productivity, collaboration, analytics, and AI-enabled tools to improve requirements management, documentation, analysis, decision-making, and business efficiency.
Experience using AI-assisted technologies such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar tools for business analysis, process design, documentation, research, and stakeholder communication.
Ability to quickly learn and adopt emerging technologies, automation capabilities, and data-driven solutions.
Advanced working knowledge of SQL.
Proficiency with the MS Office product suite.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Science or Computer Science preferred.
At least three years of experience in business systems analysis, requirements documentation, data structure design or specification, and test case development.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Salesforce CRM, SSAS, SSIS, SSRS, Azure Cloud, Snowflake, Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, or other data management tools.
Mortgage experience is highly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Science or Computer Science is preferred.

Responsibilities

Own and prioritize the backlog for assigned initiatives, ensuring requirements align with business objectives and delivery priorities.
Partner with business stakeholders, Product, and Engineering teams to define requirements, refine user stories, support user acceptance testing, and drive successful delivery.
Engage with business users to analyze business needs and gather and document business and solution requirements using best practices.
Conduct business process analysis, needs assessments, and preliminary cost-benefit analyses to align IT solutions with business initiatives.
Evaluate, analyze, and document requirements; translate them into system requirement specifications and support implementation.
Define systems scope and objectives based on end-user needs and understanding of business systems, applications, data architecture, and industry requirements.
Work across business organizations to create and maintain an integrated approach to data flow, information management, and end-user reporting and dashboard deliverables.
Work with technology architects and developers to design integrated solutions across company systems and ensure data requirements, migrations, and standards are understood and implemented.
Understand the business implications of technical solutions and assist in defining, designing, and documenting technology solutions for future business needs.
Update documentation when project change requests are approved to ensure quality and traceability throughout development.
Create, review, and deliver end-user documentation, including user guides, process flow charts, and training materials, and provide training for new business solutions.
Work with users to select or create test scenarios, determine whether systems meet project specifications, and support end-user acceptance testing, including validation of resulting datasets.
Apply research, analytical, and interpretation skills to solve problems of diverse scopes and develop solutions to moderately complex problems.
Screen, evaluate, reconcile, and report data, and identify data integrity issues.
Use judgment and initiative to resolve problems and make choices, decisions, or recommendations.
