About The Position

The Sr Business Insights Analyst analyzes operational and enterprise data using statistical and analytical methods to identify trends, patterns, and performance indicators that support business objectives. The role develops visualizations and reports that turn data into actionable insights for operational teams and leadership, and supports dashboards, reports, and analytical tools used to monitor performance and key metrics.

The analyst prepares and transforms data using query languages, visualization platforms, and analytical tools; applies data testing and validation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency; and works with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and support data-driven decisions. The role also builds knowledge of enterprise data structures and flows, communicates findings to technical and non-technical audiences, and helps maintain data definitions, dictionaries, metadata, and other supporting documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent work experience is considered.
• At least 5 years of experience in data analysis and decision support.
• Demonstrated proficiency with analytical software and dashboard building.
• Demonstrated proficiency in query languages such as SQL.
• Ability to apply statistical analysis methods to uncover relationships, validate findings, and support sound analytical conclusions.
• Proven ability to build clear, actionable dashboards using tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience with data quality validation, documentation, and testing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain technical or complex concepts.
• Ability to apply research methods and/or advanced statistical and/or accounting methods.
• Basic computer skills for using software applications to develop documents, reports, and graphics.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with geospatial analysis.
• Background in the utility industry.

• Develop and maintain knowledge of enterprise data structures and data flows, including how operational data is captured, stored, and used in analytics.
• Communicate analytical findings through written summaries, presentations, and visualizations suited to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Assist in maintaining data definitions and supporting documentation, including data dictionaries and metadata.
