About The Position

This role manages the process to connect and serve new residential/commercial development opportunities. It involves reviewing plats, working with operations on infrastructure design and costs, preparing feasibility studies, negotiating with developers, executing contracts, and serving as a liaison during construction. The position also focuses on maintaining strong business relationships with builders and developers, promoting the company's programs and natural gas usage, building relationships with channel partners, executing business development programs to grow market share, managing the Energy Efficiency program, tracking building permit activity, utilizing market analytics, managing assigned accounts, and attending industry meetings and conferences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field and two years of related experience; or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers/stakeholders to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or modifications on technical, environmental or other complex concepts to individuals with little or no background in the area under discussion and proactively advocate for continued/increased usage of natural gas.
  • Ability to perform analysis involving financial investments, ratios, percentages and statistical methods.
  • Working knowledge of various software applications to create documents, spreadsheets, financial analysis, reports and/or graphics.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the process to connect and serve new residential / commercial development opportunities, including reviewing plats, determining infrastructure design and costs, preparing feasibility studies, recommending proposal terms, negotiating with developers, executing contracts, and serving as a liaison during infrastructure construction.
  • Maintains strong business relationships with builders and developers within assigned territory, serving as their primary point of contact and proactively recording interactions.
  • Promotes the company’s programs and services and advocates for natural gas usage to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Builds and manages relationships with channel partners (gas appliance dealers, plumbers, HVAC dealers) and develops a strong gas dealer network.
  • Executes business development programs to maximize customer retention, stakeholder engagement, and grow market share, pursuing on main conversion and short main extension customer growth opportunities.
  • Manages the division’s Energy Efficiency program (where applicable), providing support to the third-party administrator for customer rebates.
  • Tracks building permit and new construction activity in assigned areas and attends Planning and Zoning meetings.
  • Utilizes market analytics to gauge success, identify future market opportunities, and develops/presents plans to management.
  • Manages assigned residential and commercial accounts to ensure services meet customer expectations.
  • Attends industry-related meetings and conferences and presents important industry-related information as appropriate.
