POSITION DESCRIPTION: Boardwalk Pipeline Partners is seeking a Sr. Business Development Representative to originate, develop, and execute growth opportunities across its pipeline and storage platform. This role is primarily focused on hands-on commercial execution—identifying opportunities, structuring deals, and advancing projects from concept through final agreement—while also serving as a key leader within cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is a strong commercial doer with emerging leadership capability, capable of taking ownership of projects, influencing outcomes, and contributing to broader team success.

Requirements

  • Experience in natural gas pipelines, storage, or energy infrastructure
  • Demonstrated experience in originating and executing commercial opportunities or supporting project development efforts
  • Understanding of natural gas transmission and storage markets, including contracting structures and customer drivers
  • Familiarity with the legal and regulatory framework governing pipeline and storage projects
  • Ability and curiosity to understand pipeline hydraulics and base business operations, using that insight to develop practical commercial solutions
  • Strong analytical and financial skills, including evaluating project economics and trade-offs
  • Sound judgment in balancing opportunity, risk, and execution feasibility
  • Doer with leadership instincts—takes ownership while guiding others through complex workstreams
  • Strong collaborator, effective at working across functions and influencing without authority
  • Team-first mindset, contributing to a positive, accountable, and high-performing environment
  • Clear and effective communicator with strong presentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across pipeline and storage assets
  • Lead the day-to-day advancement of projects, from early-stage concept through commercial structuring and contract execution
  • Structure and negotiate precedent agreements and definitive commercial contracts
  • Stay directly engaged in customer discussions and commercial decision-making throughout the lifecycle of each opportunity
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, shippers, and counterparties
  • Understand customer needs and market dynamics to help shape commercial opportunities
  • Support competitive positioning through market awareness and insight
  • Lead project workstreams and coordinate cross-functional teams (Engineering, Regulatory, Legal, Environmental, Operations, Finance) to develop and advance opportunities
  • Work closely with technical teams to understand system capabilities, including pipeline hydraulics and base system operations, and translate those into viable commercial solutions
  • Identify project risks and help drive alignment on scope, cost, and execution approach
  • Take ownership for delivering results on assigned opportunities
  • Demonstrate a willingness to lean in and commit the time required when projects are active and time-sensitive
  • Drive pace, solve problems, and help remove obstacles to keep projects progressing
  • Develop clear and concise materials to support internal decision-making
  • Present opportunities and recommendations to leadership in a structured and effective manner
  • Ensure alignment across stakeholders throughout the development process
