About The Position

The Sr Biomedical Equipment Technician administers the daily operations of a specific service shop within the organization. The role provides repair, incoming inspection, calibration, and maintenance services for a wide range of medical treatment and diagnostic equipment, helping ensure the functionality and safety of patient care technology. Success requires technical proficiency, organizational skills to manage shop operations, and meticulous equipment maintenance. The technician provides coverage and support for the CE Lead during the Lead’s absence if needed and participates in a rotational on-call schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Urgent service needs may require response outside regular business hours and a short-notice return to the facility.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent military education, graduate of a technical program, validated training certifications, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience servicing technical equipment.
• Valid driver’s license.

• Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician certification, upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Administer the daily operations of a specific service shop.
• Perform preventative maintenance, safety tests, and calibration for equipment.
• Repair equipment throughout the responsible area.
• Prioritize workload effectively with minimal supervision.
• Complete required record keeping for work orders received and/or finished.
• Resolve organization-level customer service issues and complaints with minimal supervision.
• Provide coverage and support for the CE Lead during the Lead’s absence if needed.
• Participate in a rotational on-call schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and respond to urgent service needs outside regular business hours as required.
