About The Position

We're looking for a Sr. Azure Product Owner I to guide the direction and delivery of cloud initiatives supporting our federal client's mission systems. You'll sit at the intersection of engineering, stakeholders, and program leadership, translating mission needs into a clear product roadmap and making sure the cloud team is building the right things in the right order. Requirements

  • 5+ years of Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar technology delivery experience, including at least 2+ years supporting cloud platforms or cloud transformation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience owning and prioritizing a technical product backlog, including developing epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including core concepts across compute, storage, networking, identity/IAM, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience working directly with cloud engineers, architects, DevOps, and cybersecurity teams.
  • Strong experience with Agile/Scrum delivery, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, prioritization, and release planning.
  • Experience translating business, mission, and technical requirements into executable cloud work.
  • Understanding of federal IT delivery and cybersecurity requirements, including ATO and continuous monitoring processes.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to brief both technical teams and government/program leadership.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, dependencies, risks, and delivery timelines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance; active Top Secret strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work on-site in Washington, DC four days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with government stakeholders to understand priorities, emerging requirements, and mission needs.
  • Translate stakeholder needs into clear epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria for the Azure engineering team.
  • Prioritize and refine the product backlog based on mission impact, technical dependencies, security requirements, and delivery commitments.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Work alongside Azure engineers and architects to resolve requirements, dependencies, and technical blockers.
  • Coordinate with cybersecurity teams to incorporate ATO, continuous monitoring, Zero Trust, and compliance requirements into planned work.
  • Review delivery progress, upcoming milestones, risks, and dependencies and help remove obstacles that could impact execution.
  • Balance new capabilities and modernization priorities with technical debt, operational needs, and cloud governance requirements.
  • Provide program and government leadership with clear updates on progress, priorities, risks, and key decisions.
  • Continuously evaluate the roadmap to ensure the team is delivering the highest-value capabilities for the mission.
