About The Position

Mouser Electronics is seeking a Senior Product Owner to join their team. This role involves providing business and technical direction on systems, design, development, testing, and deployment by collaborating with various teams including developers, product managers, project managers, quality assurance, business teams, and technical support. The Senior Product Owner will learn stakeholder strategy, priorities, requirements, and business processes, and will be responsible for documenting business requirements and user stories, overseeing technical specification development, and enforcing change control procedures. A key aspect of this role is to develop a strong business acumen, understand agile software development methodologies, and act as an advocate for customers and users. The position requires establishing and maintaining effective relationships, documenting project information, and utilizing strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's Degree in a technical or equivalent discipline.
Requires 6+ years’ experience as a software development business analyst, product owner, or equivalent position.
Requires 2+ years with ecommerce environments (min 1 year of B2B experience required).
Internal candidates: Experience can be a combination of internal and external experience. Minimum Highly Effective performance in current role.
Expert with project management tools and methodologies, software development lifecycle and problem solving.
Expert ability to produce documentation including mockups, flowcharts, and other process diagrams.
Expert in managing multiple projects and priorities.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Demonstrates and encourages others to have a positive attitude toward self and others.
Consistently sets and track goals proactively.
Expert ability to tailor verbal and non-verbal communication skills to intended audience, including people at all levels.
Product Owner certification recommended.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with ecommerce environments preferred.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with developers, product managers, project managers, quality assurance, business teams and technical support to provide a mix of business and technical direction on systems, design, development, testing and deployment.
Learn stakeholder strategy, tactical approaches, priorities, requirements, and business process.
Document business requirements and user stories, oversee and coordinate the development of technical specifications, and help enforce change control procedures.
Take initiative to spend time with all levels of users (formal meetings, informal meetings, observing work, etc.).
Develop a strong Mouser business acumen and use it with each assignment.
Understand basic agile software development methodology processes.
Document basic business needs, user requirements and/or user stories.
Participate in functional design process.
Oversee development team backlog.
Establish open and timely communications with interested parties, stakeholders, and teams.
Develop and maintain all project documentation for all assigned projects.
Be seen as an advocate for the customers/users.
Represent the company and Internet Business in a professional manner.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external contacts.
Utilize organizational skills to document, categorize, prioritize, provide easy access to information, ask questions, follow up, and maintain communications.
Be detailed and thorough in work habits with multi-tasking ability.
Contribute to the product roadmap, suggesting strategic goals and initiatives for assigned domain through industry knowledge of leading practices.
